Richard Diebenkorn said, "I
can never accomplish what I want, only what I would have wanted
had I thought of it beforehand." This most accurately
describes my way. My ideas for a painting come only after
many attempts at seasoning a canvas. I enjoy solving problems,
and I believe it is in this process of reworking and rearranging
that my intentions are realized.
While abstract, my work remains
grounded in a sense of realism and traditional disciplines.
Painting provides me with free and direct expression of
my ideas. My statements are my paintings.
