Bob's paintings have a life
of their own. Through them we can
experience the world through different eyes and see it anew,
suffused with color and emboldened with the confidence that
each brushstroke and scrape of the pallet knife brings to it.
Those are the elements that initially capture your eye and
drag you in, beckoning to you. However there is something else
at work within these frames that is harder, if not impossible
to describe. A kind of honesty and generosity that keeps on
giving, allowing the viewer to participate in a give-and-take
of expectations and experiences, a slow-burn during which the
subtler, more organic qualities of each painting are revealed.
It is in this unfolding of color and form that the paintings
come alive, and are constantly regenerating themselves with
each glance.
